Academic Council
In accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity" and for the purpose of determining prospective directions of scientific and scientific-technical activity, as well as considering and working out the main issues of the Institute's production and organizational activity, the Scientific Council of the Institute was created, which is a collegial consultative body - an advisory body for managing its scientific, educational and scientific and technical activities
Chairman of the Scientific Council – Director of the Institute of vegetable growing and melons growing of NAAS, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researchers – Kutz Oleksandr;
Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Council – deputy director of the Institute of vegetable and melons growing of NAAS for scientific work, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researchers –Paramonova Tetyana;
Secretary of the Scientific Council – scientific secretary of the Institute of vegetable and melons growing of NAAS for scientific work, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researchers – Sergienko Oksana.
In its activities, the Scientific Council referred to the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific and Technical Activities" and the Regulations on the Academic Scientific in a Scientific Institution.
The main tasks of the Scientific Council are determined:
- to determine the development strategies of the Institute and prospective directions of scientific and scientific and technical activity;
- conduct a scientific and scientific and technical assessment of the subject and results of scientific research works;
– to approve current (annual) plans for scientific research and scientific and technical (experimental) developments;
- to approve educational and scientific programs (ONP), curricula, programs of educational disciplines;
- approves the candidacy of the ONP Guarantor;
– consideration of plans for production verification of completed scientific and research works, assessment of their economic efficiency, as well as making proposals for their use in agriculture;
- discussion of the results of the acceptance of experiments, methodical level of research and scientific and technical works;
- consideration of issues of cooperation of the Institute with other scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and other departments;
- consideration of the Institute's cooperation with higher educational institutions;
- promotion of development and consideration of issues of coordination of scientific research works and issues of effectiveness of international scientific and research cooperation;
- discussion of the most important scientific problems and issues of improving the management structure of the Institute;
- there is the creation of permanent or temporary problem and methodological commissions for preliminary consideration of existing issues are submitted for discussion by the Scientific Council;
- listening to the reports of the heads of structural units and employees of the Institute about their activities;
- improvement and development of the structure of the scientific institution;
- an announcement of a competition and to elect by competition for the vacant positions of heads of departments, laboratories, chief, leading, senior and junior researchers, teachers under the National Academy of Sciences, as well as on the proposal of the director of the Institute, managers and deputy managers for scientific work of scientific research institutions, which are subordinate to the Institute;
- the approval of the topics of the dissertations of holders of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education or the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences and the appointment of academic supervisors or consultants;
- there is the formation of one-time special councils for the defense of dissertations for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy;
- the preparation of proposals for the Institute's management to grant creative leave to complete work on a doctoral or candidate's dissertation for and academic leave;
- approval of the results of the attestation of scientific workers, graduate students, doctoral students and applicants;
- nomination of teams and individual scientists who have achieved significant successes in science, outstanding scientific works for awarding prizes, medals and other types of awards, including international ones;
- assigning scientific titles of professor and senior researcher to employees of a scientific institution and submitting relevant decisions for approval to the attestation board of the central executive body, which ensures the formation and implements state policy in the field of scientific and scientific and technical activities, violation of the petition for the award of honorary titles;
- approval of annual reports on the activities of the scientific institution and financial plans of the scientific institution;
- adoption of a decision on the placement of own revenues in territorial bodies of the central executive body, which implements state policy in the field of treasury service of budget funds, or in public sector banking institutions;
- approval of the list of professions and positions of employees of a scientific institution to which flexible working hours and remote work can be applied.
